Each year, the Food and Agriculture Organization(FAO) of the United Nations issues SOFA, a publication which examines some basic topic of importance to the world food community. This year, SOFA is concentrating on biofuels and their impact on food production; the 2007 report dealt with “Paying Farmers for Environmental Services,” while the 2006 version examined “Food Aid for Food Security.” These reports are carefully constructed, presenting varying viewpoints.
