Nuts to You, and Other Recent Medical Reports

There have been several noteworthy medical reports recently released; here are the sources for each of them. It would appear eating nuts of any kind, in any form is a good way of staying healthy, according to Association of Nut Consumption with Total and Cause-Specific Mortality from the New England Journal of Medicine. PB&J anyone? Migraine sufferers (we count ourselves among these poor souls) now have a list of procedures NOT to follow, according to the journal Headache –  Choosing Wisely in Headache Medicine: The American Headache Society’s List of Five Things Physicians and Patients Should Questions. Thankfully,  resting in a darkened room with a compress is not on the proscribed list. The overuse of antibiotics in children with respiratory illnesses is examined in Principles of Judicious Antibiotic Prescribing for Bacterial Upper Respiratory Tract Infection in Pediatrics from the journal Pediatrics.
