The Transition Process Explained

With a limited period of time to get one president in and the other out, the transition period is replete with milestones that have to be adhered to. After all, there are THOUSANDS of jobs that have to be filled in this environment so that a fully functioning government is ready to hit the ground Janury 20, 2017. To that end, several links are worth perusing: the Center for Presidential Transition offers its updated Presidential Transition Guide; from CRS, we have Presidential Transitions: Issues Involving Outgoing and Incoming Administrations and Presidential Transition Act: Provisions and Funding; the GAO offers Presidential and Congressional Transition, a listing of reports outlining priority recommendations; the Presidential Transition Directory provides helpful links; the Office of Personnel Management has issued its guide for federal employees affected by the transition – Presidential Transition Guide to Federal Human resources Management Matters; and CNN has this informative piece – What is a transition?
